Is this a Messiah-Movement?

Many hold the hope and the expectation that the world is currently going through a shift that will dethrone the dysfunctional structures of government and the financial world, bring spiritual enlightenment to the masses and make our society more free and just. To my mind this indicates there has been an expectation of a sort of Messiah – not as an individual figure but as a symbolic movement as the “Second Coming.” We know that historically such hope in a Messiah ended up being very disappointing to the people for it did not give them the economic, political or nationally free life they so desperately longed for.
    As the days pass with world-changing events seemingly falling short of the level predicted, I am observing the same disappointment from people who had hoped for such a shift. And since the chaos and upheaval has not (yet) materialized and significant change has not (yet) occurred, some have even become cynical about a spiritual vision. Before this state of consciousness unwittingly manifests such negative events, I would like to bring forward another perspective to consider.
    The true shift is a spiritual one that begins within the individual. It offers spiritual freedom, freedom from any kind of material attachment; freedom from any and all things we call “powers” (emotion, physical and mental) that could limit or harm us – and being spiritually free, we are physically and mentally free. Can our vision go this far or will we once again reject this Messiah?
    Humankind can be so hungry for the “demonstration” whether it be a better home, a better job, a better wife or husband or children, a bigger income, a better environment, even a better world-community of loving-minds – that they set up a kind of Messiah concept that is supposed to provide freedom – one that makes promises of a material nature that will bring about improved conditions and circumstances. This is a Messiah that makes promises in a physical and in a human way, which is always about one power overcoming other powers. This appears to be the only way we seem able, on the whole, to understand. This may also explain why, for some, they so easily support such a Messiah-movement and then become so disillusioned when what they are expecting does not occur.
    If our thinking is on demonstration and effect, we will not be able to grasp the message that is being offered every day in the week and has been for thousands of years: Know that within your own consciousness is all rightness, all goodness, and all that you need; there is only one power; there is no other power that exists that can be for or against you. This message is rejected because it is an entirely different paradigm from the one we currently hold in which we accept the universal-view that is in favour of overcoming things and persons and demonstrating want we want.
    Are we setting our eyes on a Messiah-movement that will give us more or better matter? The spiritual kingdom is first realized within, in our consciousness, and then the divine presence, guidance and spiritual freedom forms our outer world. Spiritual freedom means freedom from material laws, from material activity, from material powers – whether the power is one of infection or contagion or of planets or anything that claims to have power or that you personally fear as a power. Once you truly understand spiritual principles, you are free. You are free from any claim of mortality: sin, disease, war, bombs, lack, limitation. All these things disappear in your inner or spiritual freedom.
    Please ponder this: What is it that you are expecting and what would you like from your Messiah-movement? In truth, your Messiah is the Christ of your own being. Have you arrived at that point where you can reject the temptation to demonstrate person and things and turn right to this Christ within your own consciousness, to the kingdom within, letting It reveal its own nature, as you, to you? Do you even desire to attain true spiritual freedom – freedom from thinking of material laws and material activity as powers? 

The Ultimate Solution Will be found in Spiritual Power
    Many are asking, “But won’t spiritual power heal the world?” The answer is, “Yes, however it must be understood what spiritual power is and how it is to be employed.” People have been praying to their concept of God to remove sin, heal disease, and bring peace on earth for thousands of years and yet, up to this time, sin, disease, and war have not been eliminated.
    Although spiritual power is the way, it is not a power that destroys what we call evil or error. The reason why people have failed in trying to use spiritual power to overcome anything is because spiritual power is not a power that can be used. But, we can let spiritual power govern us. We can let spiritual power govern our body, health, and supply; be our intelligence, be love and peace by not trying to use it, but by relaxing every effort of our mind, learning to be still and letting spiritual power be as the only power that is. For in the presence of such omnipotence, error quickly dissolves, and its true state of nothingness is revealed. This is the great secret: Spiritual power cannot be used and praying to a concept of God to do something – to overcome some so-called “other” power – does not generate spiritual power.
    Spiritual power is the salvation of the world. To prove it, however, we must demonstrate in our personal experience that there is a Power and this Power releases us from the effects, beliefs, and forms caused by the universal mesmerism – IF we do not attempt to use it. How can this release happen? By relaxing and giving up mental effort or battling any of the things we think have power over us and that we think can cause any form of lack and limitation. What we will find is no person or thing has power over us unless we think it is so, as long as he love hate or fear it, or as long as we fight it. 

The Consciousness of All
    There is a Christ-consciousness, which is now evolving on earth. As it continues to evolve, the new generation will be born into that Consciousness. What we are developing through study and meditation, it will be born into. The old world will be wiped out and disappear, and a new world will be born.
    In fact, every truth you realize in your consciousness now becomes a law unto consciousness. And since everything is Consciousness it is not confined to one person: it becomes a law unto all consciousness. The person most nearly attuned receives the first and greatest benefit, but eventually the circle widens, and even friends and relatives who cannot directly accept a spiritual message begin to show forth some measure of good.
    Those who are realizing the spiritual principles of infinite Consciousness: one life and one power are forming the consciousness of the new generation. In the same way, we ourselves have benefited from the mystics of the world. What they placed in consciousness has enabled us to be born, not as savages, but as persons with some degree of civilization. Certainly, a higher consciousness is evolving in the world and all of us are the beneficiary of it.
    When someone is brought to a message of this nature, it is not for h/her good only. Grace does not work that way. Grace brings us to a spiritual teaching in order that we may show the fruitage of the Christ-consciousness and be instruments for establishing It on earth. Every truth we know and every healing that takes place through our consciousness helps to establish that healing Grace in human consciousness.
    When we pass from being just human beings into an awareness of our spiritual identity, we become a spiritual influence to hundreds and possibly thousands, ensuring the day of the Christ as the Consciousness of all humankind.
